International Academic Exchange: Creating New Opportunities for Future Collaboration

Professor Dong-Jhy Hwang, Vice President of National Taiwan Sport University (NTSU), recently led a delegation on an official visit to the University of Stirling in the United Kingdom. During the visit, representatives from both universities engaged in in-depth discussions on sport education, academic research, and international innovation and collaboration, marking an important milestone in the long-standing partnership between the two institutions.

The NTSU delegation was warmly received by Professor Neville Wylie, Senior Deputy Principal (Internationalisation); Professor David Bond, Head of Performance Sport; Professor Paul Dimeo, Head of the Faculty of Health Sciences and Sport; and other faculty members from the University of Stirling. The high-level reception reflected the University of Stirling’s strong commitment to and recognition of the partnership between the two universities.

Vice President Hwang, himself an alumnus of the University of Stirling and a scholar specializing in the sociology of sport, found this return visit to his alma mater particularly meaningful. The two universities have maintained active exchanges for several years. In 2022, an NTSU delegation visited the United Kingdom, while in early 2025, representatives from the University of Stirling traveled to Taiwan for working meetings with NTSU. During those meetings, the two sides held extensive discussions on student exchanges, curriculum articulation, and research collaboration, laying a solid foundation for this latest visit.

The visit focused on developing concrete areas of cooperation, including faculty and student exchanges and collaborative academic research. The visit was also officially featured on the University of Stirling’s website, where it was described as an important step toward strengthening international collaboration, further highlighting NTSU’s growing role and standing in the field of international sport higher education.

NTSU will continue to advance its comprehensive partnership with the University of Stirling and looks forward to expanding and deepening collaboration in sport education, academic research, and the development of high-performance sport talent.
